About us Meet the team Central Support Team Elaine Linnie - Health & Safety Manager (Elaine at 6-months-old) Elaine is our Health and Safety Manager. She has worked in childcare for over 20 years and is qualified to Level 4 in Early Years. Elaine joined Acorn in 2014 as an Early Years Practitioner at our Burton Latimer Nursery, progressing to Senior Practitioner and Health & Safety Rep in the same year, then became the Deputy Manager from 2015 to 2021. From August 2020 to August 2021, Elaine joined our Central Support Office as Health and Safety Officer on a part-time basis, working alongside Steve before taking on the role full time from September 2021. Elaine has completed varying Health and Safety qualifications since moving to the Central Support Team and was appointed as Health and Safety Manager in 2023. Having a childcare background means Elaine is able to adapt her role to suit the needs of each of our sites and works closely with all staff, ensuring high standards of Health and Safety are embedded into everyday practice to create a safe environment for everyone. When she's not at work, Elaine loves nothing more than to spend time with her family, going on dog walks or exploring the outdoors!
