A Total Communication Approach by Sarah Austin Expand Summary: This course is designed for early years practitioners, SENCOs and managers who want to strengthen inclusive communication practice within their setting. It introduces the principles of a Total Communication Approach and explores how this can be embedded into everyday practice as part of ordinarily available provision. Participants will be introduced to a range of practical communication and interaction strategies to support children with SEND, with a focus on strategies that can be easily used within the setting and shared with parents and carers to support consistency at home. By the end of the session, participant will feel more confident in using a Total Communication Approach to enhance inclusive practice and support positive outcomes for children.
