This training offers a supportive approach to all practitioners working with babies, whether you are based in the baby room, or help in there on occasions. Reflective discussions, through a mixture of role play and scenarios, will enable practitioners to develop their understanding of the statutory elements of the baby room and how this is embedded within day-to-day practice. Inspection Framework by Laura Tingey The new inspection framework was implemented in November 2025 by Ofsted with the aim to enhance transparency and provide a more nuanced evaluation of care and education. The course will focus on key principles of the new inspection framework and what to expect. It will identify the key focus areas such as safeguarding, curriculum, inclusion, and leadership and how judgements are made. You’ll also learn practical strategies to prepare your setting, including evidence gathering, self-evaluation, and readiness for planning. By the end, you’ll feel confident about meeting requirements and demonstrating best practice. Curriculum Training by Becky Watanabe This interactive session will help you reflect on your current practice and begin drafting your curriculum intent. You’ll build confidence in articulating how your curriculum is tailored to each child’s needs. Together, we’ll explore the three I’s—Intent, Implementation, and Impact—through activities and discussion, and consider how Acorn’s Relational Pedagogy supports connection, secure attachments, and children’s well-being. You’ll leave with fresh ideas and inspiration for creating play opportunities that spark curiosity and nurture young explorers. Boosting Babies Brain Power delivered by Becky Watanabe This exciting, practical workshop explores the importance of attachment and forming secure relationships with a key person in an enabling, sensory rich and nurturing environment. Consider how to provide a safe yet stimulating environment where a baby feels confident to explore the curiosities, awe and wonder of the world through their senses. Intent, Implementation and Impact delivered by Becky Watanabe This interactive session will explore the intent, implementation, and impact (the 3 I’s) of activities and experiences that help children to reach their full potential. Reflective discussions will help you to understand pedagogy and how teaching supports connection, attachment and for children to learn most effectively. Riding the Waves and Calming the Storm delivered by Becky Watanabe This hands on and interactive course will equip you with the knowledge and skills need to help provide an enabling environment that promotes positive behaviour and tools needed to support children to calm big emotions. This course is aimed at those working with young children. Loose Parts Play delivered by Becky Watanabe This hands-on course will engage you in group discussion and partake in activities to explore how loose parts are valuable resources to truly empower learning within a holistic curriculum. Reflect on practice and consider how adults' ‘set ups’ and provocations at times may hinder opportunities for imagination and creative thinking. 3 Hour Bespoke Course Package / 6 Hour Bespoke Course Package Acorn’s Bespoke Training Packages provide you with tailored training courses to suit your team’s needs and desired learning outcomes.
