It was a double win! We are so pleased to share that it was a double win for us at this year’s Nursery World Awards! The awards were held in London on Saturday 21st September where we were awarded the Nursery Group of the Year and Nursery Operations Manager of the Year! The Nursery Group of the Year award recognises excellence in every aspect of care, learning and development for all children, the provision of inspirational environments, an exemplary approach to staff development and a fostering of warm, supportive relationships with parents and carers. We are so proud of all our incredible staff for their continuous hard work in making our nurseries such welcoming, nurturing and fun places for all the children, as well as for the supportive and personal partnerships that are built with the families. It was also a great night for Laura Tingey, our Head of Early Years & Compliance, who won the Nursery Operations Manager of the Year! This award recognises her exemplary leadership and management skills in enabling consistent high quality across all our nurseries, for the benefit of children, families, staff and the group! Upon winning the award Laura said: “It’s such an honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award within the sector. I have a real passion for supporting my work colleagues and the children and families within Acorn and it’s lovely to be recognised in this way.” It was a great evening for social enterprises in general, particularly with June O’Sullivan from the London Early Years Foundation winning the Lifetime Achievement award. Both June and Zoe, Acorn’s CEO, are currently collaborating with other social enterprises in the sector to create an Early Years Social Enterprise Collective. Thank you Nursery World for the fantastic evening celebrating all the inspiring practice within the early years sector – congratulations to all!
