Attached to the Hedgerows family centre, the nursery transferred to us from Milton Keynes Council and offers fully-funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds. The nursery offers full and part-time care for children aged four months to four years, and is open 7:30am until 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year round. All Acorn nurseries are closed for all bank holidays, between Christmas and new year, plus our four training days each year. This means that monthly fees for 2024 are calculated over 49 weeks. You will not be charged for these days, however fees are payable for additional closure days which are out of our control, eg: additional bank holidays over the standard eight. Funded childcare options are available. The nursery provides children with a caring, challenging and stimulating environment. Children are supported by a highly qualified and experienced staff team who have ample knowledge and experience of child development and special education needs. All children are assigned a key person which helps children to become familiar with the setting and to feel confident and safe within it. The Acorns and Squirrels room caters for 14 children, aged four months to two years old. It has a bright main play room, a sleep area and nappy changing/toilet facilities and children have access to a safe enclosed garden. Our Oaks room has provision for 24 children, aged three and four, and is a bright room with access to a large garden space with a covered area for all year round play. A toilet area and quiet/sleep room is available for children to use. We place a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and the children enjoy play outside in all weathers. Pre-school children develop their outdoor learning at regular Forest School sessions, and a variety of imaginative and creative play activities can be enjoyed alongside regular outings and trips. All the nursery meals are freshly prepared and delivered each day by Acorn Catering, which operates from our hub kitchen at our Shenley Church End nursery. We use local and ethically sourced produce to create our delicious meals and all our menus have been designed to be nutritionally balanced ensuring we offer a variety of foods. She also holds an Early Years Teacher Status and is passionate about providing better outcomes for children. She strives to provide quality care and education to the families in her care.
