The staff, children and parents at our Hedgerows nursery are celebrating after receiving Good in every category in the nursery’s recent Ofsted inspection!

The report commented that the staff know children “incredibly well” and understand their individual needs, which ensures that all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities are included, and their needs are met. The nursery manager, Laura O’Neill and her staff team were described as “really passionate about what they do and how they can provide the best for the children in their care”, as well as having developed an “ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum” that focuses on the individual children and their knowledge of families and the local community.

It was also highlighted in the report that the nursery ensures children experience nature and the natural environment, and as a result the children love to explore the outdoor space, looking for bugs and caring for plants for example. It was also emphasised that partnerships with parents and other agencies are “highly effective” and that “staff have a really clear understanding of the community families live in”.

Laura O’Neill, Nursery Manager said “I’m delighted that the Ofsted inspector recognised how embedded we are in the local community, which is down to the excellent work of the team here.”
