Burton Latimer Awarded Green Flag As the summer holidays draw to a close, we have the perfect way to round off August...Burton Latimer has achieved the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award 2025 with Distinction! 🎉 This recognition celebrates the amazing eco-learning and outdoor adventures our children have taken part in throughout the year. From planting and growing their own fruit and vegetables to exploring soil, composting, and caring for nature at our allotment, their hard work has blossomed into something truly special. ✨ What the Eco-Schools Assessors Said “We loved hearing about your notable success in promoting a real understanding of nature, plants and lifecycles amongst your children by involving them in gardening activities and having them grow their own plants, fruits, and vegetables. Even better that they have spent time at your allotment learning about composting, the types of soil, the importance of weeding and nurturing plants, protecting plants and even making biodegradable plant pots out of recycled paper!” 🌱 Why it matters This award is more than just recognition. It shows that our children are: Developing a real understanding of nature and how to care for it. Learning practical, creative ways to live more sustainably. Gaining confidence that their actions can shape a greener future. What better way to close out the summer than with the news that our pupils are officially recognised as eco-champions? 💚 As we step into a new school year, we’ll continue building on this success by nurturing even more ideas, skills, and green innovations. August may be ending, but our eco journey is only just beginning! 🌍✨
