Sharnbrook Shines Acorn at Sharnbrook Celebrates Strong Ofsted Outcome Across All Categories The team, families and children at Acorn at Sharnbrook are celebrating after their recent Ofsted inspection recognised that the nursery achieved a strong standard in every category. The report reflects the nursery’s nurturing ethos, the quality of teaching, and the strong progress children make across the curriculum. Located within the picturesque grounds of Colworth Science Park in Sharnbrook, the nursery gives children rich opportunities to explore, discover and investigate the natural world around them. Inspectors noted that children develop a strong sense of belonging and benefit from responsive, attentive care. With access to large open spaces, children enjoy experiences such as tree climbing and outdoor exploration, supporting both physical development and confidence. The report highlighted that children make excellent progress across all areas of learning, becoming confident, motivated learners who are well prepared for future transitions, including their move to school. Younger children were observed exploring early mathematical concepts using a variety of interesting wooden shapes, while older children developed independence through activities such as learning to use age-appropriate cutlery. Children who speak English as an additional language make rapid progress in communication and language, supported by ongoing, meaningful interactions from staff. “Children thoroughly enjoy their time at this highly inclusive and nurturing setting.” Acorn at Sharnbrook offers full and part-time care for up to 65 children, from four months to four years, and is open Monday to Friday, 7.15am to 6.15pm, all year round. This breadth of provision enables families to access flexible, high-quality childcare in a unique and enriching environment. Nursery Manager Aimee Bishop said: “I am so proud of our incredible team. This outcome reflects the dedication, expertise and care they show our children every single day. The report highlights how well we know each individual child and the strong relationships we’ve built with families. Our staff work closely with parents to understand each child’s needs, including any barriers to learning or wellbeing, and it’s wonderful to see that partnership recognised in the inspection feedback.” Zoe Raven, CEO of Acorn Early Years Foundation, added: “We're thrilled that the hard work and dedication of our team at Sharnbrook have been recognised in this lovely report. We're very proud of them all.” To read the full Oftsed report click here If you would like to enquire about a nursery space, click here, or to apply for a position at any of our nurseries, please contact 01234 608899 or [email protected].
