Donna Glendenning (Senior Forest School Leader & Trainer) Donna helped establish Acorn Forest Schools in 2009 and is now one of Acorn's Senor Forest School Leaders and Trainers. Expand Donna is Acorn Forest School's fire expert and master chef. After completing her degree in History, Donna started working at Acorn in 2006 and we have been lucky enough to keep hold of her ever since. She completed her Level 6 Childcare qualification whilst at Acorn before helping Gemma establish Acorn Forest Schools in 2009. Since 2009, Donna has spent most of her time delivering or training Forest School. Like Gemma, she has a L3 Certificate in Forest School Programme Leadership and a L4 PTLLS Award. Donna is also a Safeguarding Lead, SENDCo, and is fully trained in Paediatric and Outdoor Activity First Aid.
Gemma Goodchild (Senior Forest School Leader & Trainer) Gemma helped establish Acorn Forest Schools in 2009 and is now one of Acorn's Senior Forest School Leaders and Trainers. Expand Gemma is the friendly voice at the end of our forest school mobile. Gemma has been with Acorn since 2001; she helped establish Acorn Forest Schools in 2009 and has been a full time forest school leader ever since, also starting to work as a forest school trainer in 2016. Her favourite activity is mini-beast hunting and she has a particular skill in handling frogs! Gemma's qualifications include a Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Programme Leadership, a Level 4 Childcare Qualification, and a Level 4 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS). Gemma is a Safeguarding Lead and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) for Acorn Forest Schools, and is also fully trained in Paediatric and Outdoor Activity First Aid.
